Våbenkongen i Skotland Robert Formann udstedte 3.6.1561 i Edingburgh erklæring på anmodning af hæderlig og velbyrdig Mester Duncan Forbes , Monymusk om, at "salig Villomb Forbes, borger i Helsingborgs datter Carina var fribaaren og af det hæderlige hus Petzlego, der i blåt skjold førte en rød rode omsat med 3 sølv-bjørnehoveder og på hjelmen en halv vildmand med kølle i de korslagte arme" (Genealogisk-heraldisk Selskabs papi rer: Speciale - adelige slægter, fol.nr..18, som findes i Rigsarkivet, - måske.

The document shows that William Forbes was descended from the Forbes of Pitsligo in Aberdeenshire in which case, given the dates, William Forbes in Helsingor must have been a descendant of one of :

Edinburgh, bekræftes Carina Forbus og hendes faders Villomb Forbes ægte
fribårne afstamning af den skotske adelsslægt Forbes (Petzlego-linien).
Iflg. Ole Frommelt i Helsingør (som dog ikke altid er lige præcis) skulle
Villum Forbus være en søn af Patrick Forbes, som igen er søn af Ewelt Duncan
Forbes of Kemnay, Lochland and Romney. Villum F. var jvf O.Frommelt 1501 købm.
